Once upon a time...

It's still a mystery that Bradley and Christy never met while both attending Clemson University for undergrad. Bradley's roommate  (and now one of the groomsmen!) at Clemson was also a good friend of Christy's at Clemson. Another friend of Bradley's at Clemson (another groomsman!) was in the same major as Christy and a friend of hers. Christy and Bradley most likely crossed paths while at Clemson, but never met.

Two years later...

Christy and Bradley were introduced in Charleston New Year's Eve of 2005 by Jenny Taylor, one of Christy's best friends and bridesmaids. Jenny lived in Charleston and knew Bradley through our mutual friends. Christy was still in grad school at Clemson and was just visiting Charleston for New Year's Eve with Jenny. The meeting was brief and Christy went back to Clemson and didn't see Bradley again for at least six months.

Summer of 2005...

Christy graduated from Clemson with her MBA and got a job with SCANA Corp. in Columbia, SC. Christy didn't know anyone in Columbia, so she often traveled to Charleston on the weekends to stay with her best friend Jenny and hang out with all of her college friends. Bradley also hung out in this group of friends.

Christy and Bradley quickly became friends and it wasn't long before a crush developed between the two. Finally one day Bradley slipped a handwritten note into Christy's purse -- it said, "Do you like me? Check one - Yes, No, Maybe". Christy found the note, checked 'Maybe', returned it to Bradley and the rest is history.

For more than three years, Bradley and Christy dated while Bradley lived in Charleston and Christy lived in Columbia. After a lot of miles on their cars and lots of money towards gas, Christy and Bradley decided it was time to live in the same city....and between Columbia and Charleston, it was no contest that Charleston was the place to be.

Christy worked with her employer and was blessed to be given the opportunity to live and work in Charleston. So Christy packed up her house in Columbia and relocated to Charleston.

The Proposal
It was the opening football season weekend in Clemson -- Friday, Sept. 3rd, 2010 -- Christy was in Clemson with a group of her girlfriends. Bradley was supposed to be in North Carolina with another group of friends for a lake weekend

Christy and her friends were at the bar Christy worked at all through grad school, the Sloan Street Tap Room - a place that holds a lot of sentimental value to Christy. All of a sudden, a group of Christy and Bradley's friends came in singing the Clemson fight song. Unphased, Christy joined in on the fight song...but then she saw Bradley's older brother come in and his wife. Then Bradley's parents came in. Then Christy's parents. Then Christy saw her sister come in holding a video camera...and then she knew what was about to happen... she quickly threw down her purse and beer and waited anxiously, tears already welling up in her eyes.

After Christy's entire family and Bradley's entire family came into the bar, Bradley came bounding in and jumped up on top of one of the bar's booths. He gave a grand speech and leaned down to Christy and proposed. Christy, of course, said YES!

Words really can't describe the unique proposal, so why not just watch it for yourself... video courtesy of the Matron of Honor, Christy's sister, Meredith.
